Volume 2, Numbers 2-3

April/July 1991.

The combined second and third numbers continue the journal's mix of theory, history, and provocation. This issue includes a meditation on ideas themselves, a paper on energy flow and entropy production, Elan Moritz's report from the first Principia Cybernetica workshop, and two Jerome Barkow essays on culture and free will, followed by a call for papers on machine consciousness. The number now reads as an archival document, but the memetic and cognitive questions it raises still carry force.
