Journal of Ideas

A 1990s archive on the evolution and spread of ideas.

Preface

What follows is an archive from an earlier moment in the discussion of ideas, culture, and cognition. It is dated, but not diminished. The memetic essays retain their bite, and the larger problems of mind and intelligence remain unresolved. That unfinished ground is the territory of Frontiers of Intelligence, and the Journal of Ideas may yet return in some continuing form.
